Lanzarote is probably the most surprising Canary Island. In the year 1993 Lanzarote was declared a "Reserve of the Biosphere" by the UNESCO. The island offers a great variety of outstanding attractions to discover.

The vulcanic landscape of Timanfaya Natural Park aka the "fire mountains", the wine region of La Geria, the golden sand beaches of Papagayo and the crystal water of the Atlantic Ocean are expressing this special beauty.

The Canary Islands are also known as the “Islands of eternal spring” because of the mild temperature all year through, which varies between 20 - 26ºC with a lot of sunshine. The waters of the Atlantic ocean are about 18 degrees in February and 23 in September.

No Lanzarote visitor should miss the art and culture centres; the majority were created by the famous Lanzarote architect and artist Cesar Manrique. It is truly fascinating how he brought art and nature into harmony.
